Helpful Resources for Massage Therapists

Authors

So, you want to write a book about massage. Well, it’s like being pregnant for two years, but the rewards are grand. Here’s a good blog about writing textbooks.

In a nutshell, all the publishers of massage therapy books have a section on their website for authors, where you can find out how to make a book proposal, what exactly to turn in, etc. Follow the instructions! If you’re thinking of writing a book, spend some time in the bookstore or on the Internet–or even perusing your own bookshelf, to see which publisher is publishing similar books. Be prepared, as part of your proposal, to state which books are going to be competition for yours–and why yours will be different or better.

Products

These are my favorite massage product sources.

www.biofreeze.com The biggest seller at my office.

www.bonvital.com Love their Foot Balm.

www.massagewarehouse.com Anything and everything, but their flannel sheets are my favorite product. They come with an oversize top sheet for client modesty and face cradle cover, in addition to the fitted sheet.

www.soothingtouch.com I use Soothing Touch massage creams and oils, and they are wonderful. I switched to their cream after I won a bottle of it at a convention; I had been using another product for ten years and was so impressed with it I switched immediately. My favorite product is their Nayada Oil.
